Data Centre Relocation
Technical Project Management
Focusing on the IT Relocation workstream itself, we will take responsibility for relocation planning, infrastructure design and co-ordinating the physical work.
Site Survey & RAMS
We will attend both collection & delivery sites to conduct a comprehensive logistics site survey. This enables detailed Risk Assessment & Method Statement (RAMS) documentation to be prepared, outlining the logistical approach on the day of the relocation, and feeding into the overall planning/timings.
Structured Cabling
Sunspeed can deliver the structured cabling design and installation. Taking responsibility for these elements alongside the relocation provides a cohesive and integrated project.
Equipment de/re-racking
Our experienced engineers will work efficiently to de-rack and securely pack your equipment, which will be loaded onto vehicles for secure transport. At the delivery site, your equipment will be unpacked and installed into the delivery racks in accordance with the rack plan.
Goods-in-Transit Insurance
We have a comprehensive insurance policy designed for transporting high-value, sensitive IT Equipment. One of the key benefits of our policy is that it has no single-item limit.
Infrastructure Design
Our standard Infrastructure Design package includes: Delivery rack elevations and patching schedule
Our enhanced service includes: Structured cabling design, as-well as Capacity and environment planning.
Hardware Audit
We document your equipment and record information such as: Device make/model, serial numbers, orientation. U position, connection type and quantity, device status/health, and many more attributes.
Migration Preparation & Labelling
Ahead of the physical move itself, our engineers will attend site and label all equipment with migration labels. We will also label pro-cables at both ends so that these can be identified and recovered/installed efficiently.
Connect & Dress
Following the relocation, and once the equipment has been installed at the new location, our engineers will re-install any pro-cables and connect & dress power cables and any connections that have been pre-cabled.
Specialist Packaging, Equipment & Vehicles
We deploy state of the art computer-spec vehicles with air-ride suspension, IT-spec flight cases, and custom packaging to ensure equipment safety in transit.
Project Delivery Management
Project Delivery Management considers the other major workstreams that also need to come together to deliver the project.
We can take ownership of the: master project plan, establishing a governance and reporting layer for the whole project.
End-to-End Cable Trace
Layered on-top of a hardware audit, our engineers will physically trace all cables from end-to-end, building a complete view of your environment, detailing exactly which devices are connected to one-another, either directly or via patch panel.
Pre-cabling
Precise installation of patch cables ahead of an equipment relocation, including laser-cut switch templates.
Handover Support
After the last cable is plugged in, our helpful Engineers will remain on-site to assist with the testing and power-on process and rectify any errors.
Security
Our vehicles come with multi-level security features, and our engineers have industry standard security clearances. We have a set of security processes and additional features to enhance physical security: chain of custody paperwork, anti-tamper seals, and flight-case/vehicle padlocks.
