The audit service underpins and enables data centre relocations, optimisation and refresh projects. It also facilitates change management and ongoing business as usual IMAC work. 

Our Data Centre Management service can take this further, and institute robust change controls to ensure consistent standards are maintained and DCIM records kept accurate.

We document your equipment and record information such as: Device make/model, serial numbers, orientation. U position, connection type and quantity, device status/health, and many more attributes. 

End-to-End Cable Trace

Layered on-top of a hardware audit, our engineers will physically trace all cables from end-to-end, building a complete view of your environment, detailing exactly which devices are connected to one-another, either directly or via patch panel.

Bespoke Infrastructure Planner

Our MS Excel-based infrastructure planner tool presents the: asset inventory, rack elevations, and the end-to-end cable trace information. It also supports physical transformation, making it easy to redesign your environment or plan for a Data Centre Relocation

Do you assess power and cooling?

The Data Centre Audit is designed to look at your Infrastructure, the physical devices in your environment. However, we do offer a Rack Vulnerability assessment, which also examines your Power Infrastructure, Airflow and other general environment issues.

How will I receive the data?

You will receive the data in our bespoke Microsoft Excel based Infrastructure Planner tool. We have used Excel to allow anyone to receive the information without the use of a specialist tool or DCIM. However, the data is presented in a DCIM friendly format, allowing you to migrate this data into your tools.

Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of your hardware and connectivity is vital for troubleshooting, de-risking and avoiding unplanned outages, as-well as facilitating planning IMAC tasks and expansion. Ultimately, without good visibility of what you have, you cannot act without potentially causing interruptions to your business critical systems and risking loss of revenue or reputation.
