Case Study: Singapore Data Centre Deployment

Background

Sunspeed was engaged by a financial services customer to manage the commissioning of a new data centre presence in Singapore. This project was initiated on the back of a strong existing relationship, in which Sunspeed is the chosen supplier for international infrastructure deployment projects.

The Requirement

The customer required a new infrastructure platform in the APAC region to run applications for their their advanced automated trading platform. This demanded the design and installation of a Structured Cabling solution, and the installation of 64 x devices and in-rack cabling totalling 365 x connections.

The Solution

Prior to work beginning, all technical documentation including rack layouts and patching schedules/ cable matrixes were agreed with the customer. On-site teams were briefed and provided with detailed diagrams. 

Sunspeed also procured and shipped advanced copper and fibre cables and cable containment from leading manufacturers and according with customer standards. 

Sunspeed utilised in-house engineering resource supported by both on-site and remote technical project management to manage the back-to-back installation of structured cabling and hardware. 

The structured cabling was installed over 7 x days, and the hardware installation began immediately afterward, lasting 8 x days. The project proceeded without issue, and the installations were managed seamlessly and according to planning.

Sunspeed’s solution enabled the customer to rapidly deploy their infrastructure platform.
