Sunspeed is the incumbent supplier for Physical IT Infrastructure for a leading data centre operator with facilities in London, UK.
On the back of a number of successful relocation and deployment projects, Sunspeed was selected to provide lighting upgrades for three data halls in their data centre.

The Requirement
The client was experiencing issues with their current aging lighting systems, including poor performance, flickering and fluctuation and constant on status despite nobody being present.
Sunspeed was brought in to complete the procurement and installation of a new lighting solution which provided a high-quality working environment and saved on energy expenditure.
The Solution
Sunspeed worked closely with the client to understand their objectives and define their specifications. The client wanted sensored LED-lighting to enable energy savings and provide the optimal environment for on-site installation and IMAC work.
Our technical project management team led the procurement process, working with partners to source lights that were in-spec and so would be easily installed in the ceiling panels and connected with motion sensors.
Sunspeed procured advanced opal edge-lit panels which were highly energy-efficient and offered effective light diffusion across the space and between rows of cabinets.
Over 6 days, concurrent with other on-site deployment work, our engineers installed the lighting panels into the data-halls. This included deploying over 300 panels accross three data halls.
The Outcome
Sunspeed’s solution enabled the customer to improve their current white space environments, providing a better and functional working space for in-house and client teams.
Our installation was precise and rapid, and enabled further upgrade work to continue without hitches.
