The customer was moving their offices from Chiswick to Covent Garden. Their core infrastructure, which included a Dell PowerEdge 760 and a four node Dell EMC AX 650 HCI stack, was fundamental to daily operations. To keep the business running through the move they needed this equipment relocated with complete care and accuracy.

The Requirement
The server move formed a vital part of the wider office transition. All IT services had to be available as soon as the team occupied the new Covent Garden site. The customer also had to work within a late Friday shutdown and Saturday rebuild to keep downtime to a minimum.
They needed controlled handling of equipment with high value, coordinated access to both buildings, replication of the existing rack and cabling layout, and and cable management including the installation of cable arms.
The Solution

Our engineering expertise, detailed RAMS, insurance coverage and reliable delivery approach gave the customer confidence that the migration would be clean and low risk.
Two Sunspeed engineers were deployed early on the Saturday. The team carried out a pre rack audit, de racked the equipment, packaged it in anti shock flight cases, transported it to the new site and recreated the exact rack build. Cable management arms were installed and the cabling was re-installed in tidier condition than at the original location.
The Outcome
The relocation was completed within the agreed weekend window, allowing the customer’s infrastructure to return to service without delay. The environment was brought online with zero issues, the cabling was noticeably tidier, and the customer achieved their office move with no impact on business operations.
