Background
Sunspeed was selected via a channel partner to complete the deployment of new end-user equipment into the 22 Bishops Gate building for a leading UK-based re-insurance firm.
Following the closure of office space to save money during the Covid pandemic, the end-customer was opening a new UK office to house senior leadership, brokers, and administrative teams operating in the UK market.

The Requirement
The client was deploying into a large space, capable of supporting over three quarters of their total headcount. 152 x workstations were to be deployed across 5 phases taking place sequentially over a working week. This would allow sufficient time to ensure the physical deployment and subsequent configuration of devices was undertaken according to specifications.
As the physical deployment partner, Sunspeed was also required to test and configure all connections, including to/from peripherals, monitors, PCs and floor panels. In addition, Sunspeed also sanitised desks and devices using specialist electrical safe wipes to ensure compliance with the organisation’s H&S policies.
The client’s primary consideration was to have an IT environment that was aesthetically consistent with the architecturally beautiful space offered by the 22 Bishopsgate; therefore cable management and the precise installation of equipment was vital to to their aims.
The Solution
Sunspeed consolidated the deliveries of customer equipment into a secure warehouse. All equipment was tagged and labelled according to desk references. The equipment was delivered to site in accordance with the agreed phased delivery plan.
On-site resource then conducted the setup, connection, and testing of workstations in batches. This enabled the client IT teams to perform configuration work whilst in accordance with their internal SLAs.
Our teams also performed cable management work, installing under-desk trays and runs to ensure cables were kept discrete and out of eyeline when walking through the office space.
The Outcome
Sunspeed’s solution enabled the opening of the new office space without excessively burdening internal IT teams.
The desktop set-ups were visually clean and in keeping with the client’s standards. The lack of presenting connectivity also reinforced sleekness and modernity which reflected the architectural and interior design features of the space.
