Sunspeed Crossing Borders
Sunspeed travelled from Frankfurt to Switzerland this month for our customer, Electronic Arts Limited, a major computer game developer.
Sunspeed were given the task to de-install and collect approx 40 of their most critical servers and associated storage from their main Datacentre in Frankfurt, Germany. Then deliver and install all the equipment into the awaiting racks, in their brand new facility in Geneva, Switzerland. Due to the critical nature of the equipment and the applications they ran, we were given a twelve hour window to have all the equipment de-installed, transported and re-installed. As the equipment had to be transported on a dedicated service, we had to be responsible for organising the paperwork for the Customs Entry into Switzerland and pay the due taxes on behalf of our client, this had to be timed to perfection due to the small relocation window and the operating hours of the Swiss Boarder.
The outcome of this project was deemed a total success, as we completed our work ahead of the clients schedule allowing them to shift their resources accordingly and ended up saving them money in engineering. All the equipment was back up and running in time for the start of business trading on Monday morning.
