Sunspeed wins gold for their role in delivering the backbone of the IT infrastructure for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
This month Sunspeed were tasked with collecting, delivering and installing a major part of the IT infrastructure that will be running the London Olympic Games in 2012. As with most critical projects, the window of opportunity was small. We had to collect twenty two fully populated racks with a value of over £8m, from deep within Scotland on a Thursday and have them delivered and installed into a secure London site by lunchtime the following day.
On our arrival at the London site we started unpacking and moving the equipment into place on the 8th floor, using our special protective flooring. Once all were successfully positioned, the engineers were hot out the blocks to get everything up and running.
The whole project was delivered successfully and completed two hours ahead of schedule, leaving a very happy customer.
